Beckworth's new book

Here. Looks very interesting.

But that blog post title is like nails on a chalkboard. I hate that phrase. Whenever I hear "the book X does not want you to read", I know that X probably could care less whether you read it or not. Anyone important enough to write such a title about is probably too important to care what your reading habits are.

It sure sounds good though, doesn't it!

  1. I remember when I worked at target at the book section had some titles from a Canadian woo-meister quack which actually put the "They" in "They Don't Want You to Know" in scare-quotes! It was like something out of the unnecessary-quotation marks blog, where he's accusing others of calling someone "They".

  2. Well, I am sure that ole Ben has his reasons. ;) So I guess I'll pass up the book. But wait! Isn't that a picture of Ben Franklin on the cover? Battling Bens! What to do? What to do?

  4. FWIW worth Daniel, for me nails on the chalkboard = someone saying "they could care less" when the person actually means "they couldn't care less."
