I think this author means he "disposes with the highly restrictive assumptions" rather than "despises with the highly restrictive assumptions"

...although you never know. In this department we're assigned a heterodox article as often as we're assigned an empirical article :)

(it's a German author... I'm guessing something was just lost in translation)
