"Facts are stubborn things;
and whatever may be our wishes,
our inclinations, or the dictates
of our passion, they cannot alter
the state of facts and evidence."
- John Adams
"When the facts change I change my mind.
What do you do, sir?
- John Maynard Keynes

ReplyDeleteAre you saying this sort of behaviour doesn't irritate you? To be honest it used to irritate me, but it happens so much now I hardly notice anymore.
ReplyDeleteTo the elite we are sheep to be herded.
Cafe Hayek - where orders emerge, but we'll only be offering an a la carte menu from now on.
ReplyDeleteCafe' Hack - Where we serve up the same warmed-over crap on a fortnightly rotation.
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of when Russ got mad over the vaunted 'beer summit' when Obama invited the cop and the black Harvard prof for beers in the rose garden. Now there's clearly no point of ideology at stake here, no overweening authoritarianism, no road to serfdom, no nothing. In fact, Obama was encouraging two people to take their dispute, complicated by race, class, and perhaps political world-views, out of the newspapers and the courts into a private setting where perhaps it could be put to rest without a costly conflict or lawsuit, without whipping up racial or class tensioins or fears. There's nothing here that violates any libertarian or conservative oath, principle, or shibboleth.
But something just bugs Russ about every single thing that Obama does. He's gone Kuckoo!
I wonder if they would object to the president appearing in a TV commercial for a high fructose corn syrup laden soda.
