  1. That's the bay - the ocean isn't too far on the other side. We're right at the cape, so we get the best of both worlds!

  2. Both public, although I believe the pier on the bay side is still private (the beach of the bay itself is public).

  3. The first so-called public beach in the U.S. was in Revere, MA. Lots of places like Coney Island, Atlantic City, etc. were modeled on it as I recall. Of course it was really quasi-public - you had to pay to play the amusements, stay in the hotels, etc. just as you do today.

  4. Very jealous. It's been too long since we've been there.

    We're hoping to head out there twice when we're in town, maybe while mom and dad are in Canada, and then for a long weekend like the 22nd-24th. You should come with.
