Fringe. This is the fifth and final season.
My wife and I have recently started Fringe... so we're about halfway through the fourth season. All I can say is: don't let the first season deter you from getting hooked. I've never bothered to watch it, I'm sure it's great. It's hardly a break from economics wars though since the story editor is Glen Whitman. He even wrote an episode called "On Human Action".
