Don Boudreaux on Pre-Industrial America

Don writes about how nasty life in the American colonies could be. Even our best attempts at reproducing the past, like Colonial Williamsburg, don't even begin to communicate how hard life was. A lot of this is inevitable - you're not going to start a small-pox epidemic for the sake of historical accuracy, after all.
