That's pretty dickish. Greg's blog is very tame. Compare it to mine. And it gets signed off by Web of Trust, which isn't the case for many right winged websites.
My guess google thinks it's a spam blog because of his style of posting, kinda like how my blog software thought your comments were spam because of your style of (repeated) posting.
As Ryan notes, I'm guessing its some kind of algorithm quirk. Don't get your panties in a twist.
If you search on "Taking Hayek Seriously" instead of just Taking Hayek Seriously (i.e., without quotes), his blog comes up.
The guy treats people horribly in any comment section where he surfaces. I'm not going to feel bad about a short post that teases him over a reduction in his reach on the internet.
This post WAS only teasing until you guys came and cried your crocodile tears for him, leading me to explain why I'm really not going to feel bad over this.
It doesn't matter why you expressed your resentment. It only matters that it provides insight into whether you really meant to tease or to kick someone while he was down. People tease friends and friendly rivals, not people they consider jerks who treat people horribly.
Then pick a different word for me if you don't like "tease". This is getting tiresome Daniel.
This was not a big deal post whatever label you feel is appropriate to attach to that about someone you are going to have a hard time convincing me to have sympathy for anyway.
Moreover, you expressly say in the post that in all honesty you are not just kidding around. How do you then have the nerve to say you were "only teasing?"
Cause I don't like the guy that's why! You seem to have it in your head that you can only "tease" if you like someone. Fine, pick a better word in that case.
I'm not even sure they delisted him. When he first posted it I googled with quotes around the title and he came up. Now I'm doing it without quotes and it comes up for me (a little down the list, granted). I am not sure how far "down" he really is so I wouldn't say I'm kicking him while he's down.
And the point is it's a very light kick even if it is that (even more so if we're measuring using Greg's own standards).
I am going to try to let this absurdist thread die a natural death now... we'll see if it takes.
Greg should stay calm, write an email to Google, wait for their next index update. This is really a minor iusse and "teasing" is the correct expression for what Daniel did.
It's like "don't kick him while he's down. He has been defriended on facebook."
(I don't comment regularly so it doesn't make sense to choose a pseudonym. Sorry.)
One might say that Google isn't taking Taking Hayek Seriously seriously...

Greg's a jerk and there's not much more to say about it. He treats people horribly. You don't.
DeleteMostly this doesn't happen on his own blog, it's true. But I'm not feeling too bad about this post. I might have a couple years ago.
You consider someone a jerk, and that makes it okay to gloat and revel in what would be, for any blogger, a crushing misfortune? Downright ghoulish.

You can't repeatedly express how much you resent someone, and then convincingly play the "only teasing" card.

DeleteOr just go away.
I already picked several. "Gloat," "revel in misfortune," and "kicking someone while he's down."
DeleteYa those are too sensationalist.

DeleteWell I can't very well delete the only sensible comment on the thread so far!
