...I have a lot of work to catch up on, but I do have this thought: nothing illustrates "mutually beneficial exchange" better than a grocery store able to run only a third of its fridges on a generator.
My biggest worry has been losing all our wine (it got up to 90 in the house yesterday), but based on a sample last night they're doing OK. Looks like we may be back online tonight.

The first world does happen to be where I live and the other attending wind damage was minor, yes.

ReplyDeleteAnd those cases of Grand Cru never sat in a cargo container or a hot truck body in the open sun, while traveling from Bordeaux or Burgundy?
I have heard people talk about a trip's worth being ruined in a non-AC car. This wasn't exactly a keep-me-up-at-night worry, and I'm not sure how big a risk it is, but they don't store the stuff in cellars for the fun of it.

DeleteYou aren't thinking. You have just been conned, no differently than a bank taking your deposits, and fleecing you, by having granite steps and walnut paneling.
If I were a producer I would have wine in cellars. Look at the social proof.
But, you are incomplete denial about there being any assurance that your wine wasn't cooked (or frozen) during the transit over.
